Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as "tapping," is a mind-body method that reduces the emotional intensity on thoughts, sensations, or memories that cause distress.
With EFT, we focus on certain aspects of an issue while tapping on acupressure points on the body. This combination calms the nervous system so what you're focused on can be processed differently in the brain. As a result, the way you experience that issue can change in a positive and lasting way.
These 60- or 90-minute follow-up sessions are one-on-one with a certified clinical EFT practitioner. The sessions are tailored to your specific needs; there are no generic tapping scripts. This individualized approach helps get to the root of your issues more quickly so you feel better faster.
What to expect during an EFT session
Sessions are interactive. You choose an issue you'd like to work on, and we'll identify a starting point related to it. Together, we'll go through a process where you'll lightly tap on points on your face and body while keeping in mind a thought, feeling, or sensation related to the issue chosen.
Typically (but not always) you'll be repeating various phrases while you tap. These phrases are tailored to your issue, use your own words, and continually change throughout the session depending on what arises. I'll guide you through and tap along with you. You don't have to remember anything or figure anything out on your own.
We always keep the emotional intensity at a manageable level - no matter what comes up - so you don't feel overwhelmed. We work at a pace that's comfortable for you, and I can easily adjust the process to accommodate any physical or cognitive concerns.
EFT sessions can help you with:
- Shock and other feelings about your diagnosis or prognosis
- Anxiety about upcoming tests, procedures, or treatments
- Difficult memories about hospital or treatment experiences
- Self-image concerns related to scars, other changes to your physical appearance, or decline in your physical/mental capacity
- Pain, fatigue, or other physical symptoms that may have an underlying emotional component making the intensity worse
- Navigating uncomfortable conversations with doctors, family, friends, or colleagues
- Reframing concerns you may have about the future.
Research shows that EFT can have both emotional and physiological benefits.
- Reduced feelings of anxiety and depression
- Reduced pain levels
- Improved cognitive function in people with cancer-related brain fog
- Increased levels of salivary immunoglobulin A (a biomarker of immune function)
- Lower levels of cortisol (a primary stress hormone)
This offering is for returning clients to purchase additional sessions only. If you are a new client, you should go to my other offering - https://app.connect-and-thrive.com/marketplace/885.
