Artichoke Hearts Healing

Keryn Hawthorne’s journey into massage therapy stems from her deep commitment to helping others and her personal experiences with healing. Originally from Santa Fe, NM, she has always been drawn to nature and adventure, engaging in rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, and backpacking the Grand Canyon twice. After earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Certificate in Gerontology from Arizona State University, she dedicated 15 years to social work in nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, and disability services. Following a BRCA2-positive breast cancer diagnosis, she underwent extensive treatment, including a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and a hysterectomy. This transformative experience led her to shift careers, finding her passion in massage therapy as a way to bring healing and balance to others. Keryn has completed advanced training in pre- and perinatal massage, oncology massage, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapy. She offers customized sessions incorporating Swedish, deep tissue, ashiatsu myofascial barefoot massage, orthopedic techniques, passive stretching, hot stones, aromatherapy, and CBD oil to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.

Offering

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to relieve chronic pain, muscle tightness, and stress-related tension. Using slow, deliberate strokes and firm pressure, this approach helps break up adhesions, improve mobility, and restore balance to the body. It is particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing chronic muscle pain, postural imbalances, injury recovery, or high levels of stress.

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage

  • Reduces chronic pain and muscle tension by decreasing inflammation and improving circulation.
  • Improves flexibility and range of motion by releasing muscle tightness and increasing mobility.
  • Supports injury recovery by breaking down adhesions and scar tissue while increasing blood flow to affected areas.
  • Aids postural alignment by relieving strain on the spine and joints.
  • Enhances circulation and oxygen flow, promoting faster muscle recovery and improved function.
  • Reduces stress and anxiety by activating the parasympathetic nervous system to promote relaxation.
  • May improve sleep quality by regulating the body's stress response.
  • Boosts immune function by reducing stress hormones and supporting the lymphatic system.

Session Options

  • 30-minute session – Focuses on a specific area of tension, such as the neck, shoulders, or lower back.
  • 60-minute session – Provides a full-body massage or targeted treatment for deeper release of tension.
  • 90-minute session – Ideal for chronic pain, postural issues, or injury recovery, offering extended time for deep therapeutic work.

Who Can Benefit from Deep Tissue Massage?

  • Individuals experiencing chronic pain, stiffness, or muscle tension.
  • Those recovering from injuries, surgery, or scar tissue formation.
  • Athletes or active individuals seeking faster recovery and enhanced performance.
  • Anyone with postural misalignments or repetitive strain injuries.
  • Those looking to reduce stress, improve circulation, and support overall well-being.

Deep tissue massage is an effective therapy for pain relief, rehabilitation, and long-term physical health. Whether you need targeted treatment for a specific issue or full-body support, this approach provides lasting benefits for both body and mind.
