Artichoke Hearts Healing
Keryn Hawthorne’s journey into massage therapy stems from her deep commitment to helping others and her personal experiences with healing. Originally from Santa Fe, NM, she has always been drawn to nature and adventure, engaging in rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, and backpacking the Grand Canyon twice. After earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Certificate in Gerontology from Arizona State University, she dedicated 15 years to social work in nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, and disability services. Following a BRCA2-positive breast cancer diagnosis, she underwent extensive treatment, including a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and a hysterectomy. This transformative experience led her to shift careers, finding her passion in massage therapy as a way to bring healing and balance to others. Keryn has completed advanced training in pre- and perinatal massage, oncology massage, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapy. She offers customized sessions incorporating Swedish, deep tissue, ashiatsu myofascial barefoot massage, orthopedic techniques, passive stretching, hot stones, aromatherapy, and CBD oil to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialized massage technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting detoxification, improved circulation, and reduced swelling. Using light, rhythmic strokes, MLD supports the body's natural ability to remove toxins, reduce inflammation, and enhance overall well-being. This technique is especially beneficial for individuals recovering from cancer treatments, surgery, or managing chronic conditions such as lymphedema.
How Manual Lymphatic Drainage Supports Healing
- Reduces swelling and fluid retention. Encourages lymph flow, helping to manage lymphedema and post-surgical swelling.
- Supports detoxification. Enhances the body’s natural waste removal process, reducing inflammation and promoting overall wellness.
- Alleviates chronic pain. Helps ease discomfort associated with fibromyalgia, post-surgical recovery, and other chronic conditions.
- Boosts immune function. Supports lymphatic drainage, which plays a crucial role in the body's immune response.
- Relieves stress and tension. Light, rhythmic touch calms the nervous system, promoting deep relaxation.
Session Options
- 30-minute session – Targeted relief for localized swelling and tension.
- 60-minute session – Full-body lymphatic support and detoxification.
- 90-minute session – Extended session for deeper relaxation and comprehensive lymphatic care.
Each session is performed by a therapist trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, ensuring a safe, effective, and therapeutic experience. Whether you are recovering from cancer treatment, managing lymphedema, or seeking detoxification and relaxation, MLD is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that helps restore balance and well-being.
