Block Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment

Founded in 1980, The Block Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment was the first center of its kind in North America. More than four decades later, our model of care continues to set the standard for a comprehensive, truly individualized approach to integrative cancer treatment in the U.S. Today, many cancer centers describe their care as “integrative.” Often, however, that means offering a handful of supportive therapies alongside conventional treatment. At the Block Center, integrative care is not an add-on—it is the foundation of everything we do. We combine the best of conventional oncology with scientifically supported complementary therapies to create a treatment plan tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Depending on the individual, this may include chronomodulated chemotherapy, immunotherapy, personalized nutrition, targeted lifestyle interventions, carefully selected supplements, off-label medications, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV nutrient therapies, and prescriptive exercise. Our goal is not simply to help patients get through treatment, but to optimize health, rebuild strength, and create the strongest possible foundation for life beyond cancer.

Offering

During this medical grade Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), patients breathe 100% oxygen inside a comfortable, pressurized chamber where the air pressure is increased to approximately two to three times higher than normal atmospheric levels. This enhanced pressure allows the lungs to absorb a greater concentration of oxygen, which is then circulated throughout the body via the bloodstream. The elevated oxygen levels promote the repair and regeneration of damaged tissues, enhance healing, and help strengthen the body’s natural immune defenses.

How HBOT Can Help Cancer Patients

A key factor that contributes to abnormal cancer growth is hypoxia, a condition in which body tissues are deprived of adequate oxygen. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is one of the most effective methods for increasing oxygen delivery to tissues, creating an environment that can positively influence the tumor microenvironment. By enhancing oxygen levels, HBOT supports tissue repair and may help reduce treatment resistance—one of the primary barriers to the success of cancer therapies.

A single session lasts approximately 60-minutes.
