Cancer Lifeline: Because Nobody Should Face Cancer Alone

Cancer Lifeline is organizing this KittyFund™.

Greetings,

Many have shared their deep connection to CAT’s mission and desire to support, even without a specific patient in mind. In response, CAT has created three very special KittyFunds™, each highlighting a nonprofit that reflects CAT’s values and vision. These are not tied to an individual story, but to collective impact.

🌍 Silent Spring Institute – Advancing research and education to prevent cancer and reduce toxic exposures. With a strong focus on the links between environmental chemicals and women’s health, Silent Spring Institute empowers individuals, communities, and policymakers with cutting-edge science to drive systemic change. Their work helps uncover hidden risks and advocates for a cleaner, healthier future for all.

💗 Cancer Lifeline – Offering need-based emotional and financial support to patients in treatment. Cancer does not just impact the body—it touches every aspect of life. Cancer Lifeline helps relieve the emotional and financial burdens that too often accompany a diagnosis, ensuring patients have access to vital services, resources, and compassionate support during treatment. Their holistic approach honors the full experience of healing, from emotional well-being to practical assistance.

🩺 Greater National Advocates – Connecting patients with trusted healthcare advocates to navigate care. Whether facing a new diagnosis, a complex treatment decision, or challenges within the healthcare system, Greater National Advocates ensures patients never have to go it alone. Their nationwide network of certified advocates helps individuals make informed decisions, improve communication with providers, and receive the right care at the right time.

Together, these organizations embody the heart of what CAT stands for - i.e., prevention, the foundation of care, and advocacy.

In health,

The journey through cancer is one of daunting challenges that impacts every aspect of a person’s life. Medical treatment, side effects, and the uncertainty of outcomes can take a significant toll on a patient's mental health. While medical teams focus on treating the disease, Cancer Lifeline steps in to help cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, family members, and friends access vital support and resources.

What began over 50 years ago with a caring volunteer on the other end of a phone line has grown into a trusted lifeline for those impacted by cancer—providing innovative programs and compassionate care, always free of charge.

Today we offer:

  • Telephone Lifeline and Online Lifeline Chat
  • Mental health counseling for individuals, families, children, and healthcare workers
  • Support groups tailored to specific cancer types such as the Ovarian Cancer Support Group, as well as population-specific groups like Young Adult Caregiver, Young Adult Cancer, and BIPOC Cancer
  • Teen expressive arts group therapy
  • Financial support services for low-income cancer patients
  • Educational programs such as exercise & nutrition

Thanks to the power of technology, most of our services are now available to individuals and families across the country—expanding our reach and impact like never before.

The caring, listening, and support have continued without pause since 1973—and remain at the heart of everything we do.

Your donation today ensures that anyone impacted by cancer can access life-changing support, no matter where they live. Because nobody should face cancer alone.
