Beautifully Brave: A Season of Deep Healing

Hi! My name is Jessica Johnson.

This year was meant to be a celebration - ten years of Living Beautifully Spa & Academy, a dream I built from the ground up with heart, hustle, and a mission to help others. It also marks fifteen years in the beauty industry as an esthetician, permanent makeup artist, and educator - years devoted to mentoring, creating, and turning passion into purpose. I had envisioned this season as a joyful new chapter - one filled with gratitude, reflection, and renewal. But as life often reminds us, the path ahead can shift without warning.

In June 2025, I went in for a routine mammogram - an appointment I nearly postponed. I felt fine. I had no symptoms. But that one decision to follow through led to further imaging, an ultrasound, and eventually, a biopsy. By July, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. On September 29th - one day before my birthday - I underwent surgery to remove the tumor and had reconstruction at the same time. Next comes radiation therapy, and I am preparing myself - physically, emotionally, and spiritually - for this next stage of healing. 

I’ve spent most of my life being the one others turn to for help - my students, clients, friends, and community. I’ve built my career on empowering women to see their beauty, their strength, and their worth. Now, I find myself in a new position - learning how to ask for help and how to receive it with grace and gratitude. This journey has reminded me that even the strongest among us need a village.

I am focused on thriving through treatment recognizing that I also need to address the message that my diagnosis sent to me and I am prepared to do the deep work—but I need your support.

Between medical expenses, time away from work, and the reality of recovery, I’m doing my best to balance it all while keeping my business and academy going.
